- Introduction

Welcome to the first post of my new blog. Hopefully it won't be my last. I was going to summarize this post as an "About Me" section in the side-bar... but who the hell reads those anyway? My name is John. I am 43 years old. I live in central Connecticut. Okay, intros done...

Recently my curiosity was heightened with regard to paranormal activity so I decided that maybe as I look into these happenings further, it would be in my best interest to keep a journal - to remember what I've researched, what I have done, what I have witnessed and as a reference of the resources I have found.

Rather than keep a journal on my local hard drive, I thought it might be fun to post it as a blog so that others can read it (uh, keeping me from having to relay my exploits umpteen times !!!). My hope is that interaction will occur with readers that will teach me more and/or provide me with more resources to use in my quest.

I am far from what people would consider a "ghost-hunter" but perhaps I have found a hobby of great interest that I should pursue. I realize it could be time-consuming but I am not setting a timetable so that I can be sure to do adequate research - which I will also post.

I believe in ghosts, UFO's, witches etc.. but that doesn't make me a freak, just open-minded. My hope is to gain a better personal understanding into what these phenomena are and why I actually believe in them... or if they are worth believing in at all.

My fascination with the paranormal started many years ago, although I am not actually sure when. Suffice to say, I was a child as I remember being 8 years old or so and hearing the "older kids" talk about seeing a ghost in the woods. I wished I was old enough for my parents to let me go to try to see it too.

I also have memories from when I was in my early teens. At that time in my life "my generation" of neighborhood kids took to using a Ouija board on a regular basis - of course I was the one that supplied the board. If you're a fan of "strange" happenings, a Ouija board is a must.

Over the past several years I have become 100% sure that I have been living with a ghost, one that most likely has followed me from house to house. It's not an an evil ghost mind you - so far. But over the last decade or so I can recall numerous instances of hearing someone in my house when there is nobody home... footsteps across the floor above, doors closing, "strange noises" etc. - even objects "disappearing" and the re-appearing exactly where you left them.

True, I have a vivid imagination so you could "chalk" it up to an overactive one... But, my thought pattern isn't geared toward hearing things that aren't there. I'd like to believe that I am a realist, first and foremost, and do not discount any possibility, including catching a glimpse of a "being" while tending to my garden this summer. It was just a flash but I could make out that it was "human", caucasian and was wearing a light blue shirt. This was not imagined - why would I be thinking about ghosts while weeding the garden???

Immediately my thoughts wandered to several years ago when a Tarot Card Reader had done a reading of me over the phone. I had never met her before yet she knew things about me and my family that no one knew... including where I was at that moment, what my surroundings were and that the spirit of my father was also there - she even described where he was located in relationship to myself.

Freaked out ??? Nope. Relieved was more like it to realize that indeed I did have a ghost. And even more relieved to realize that it was my father. So, obviously any occurrences since then have been "dad" at it again.

So, there's a brief introduction into me and my thoughts. I have decided that it may be time to research and understand more about the paranormal. As I do so, I will share what I learn on here for the reasons described above. Perhaps some of you will find it interesting and will help in my quest.
